Japonesque Safari Chic brush set - An overview

Hello there :)
Today I'm doing an overview of the Japonesque Safari Chic brush set...

(Smaller eye brush)

I first saw these brushes when beauty bloggers I follow on Twitter were getting excited about 'Japonesque's new brushes' and one person in particular was Ruth from A Model Recommends. She did a review and after reading that I was sold.

I ordered mine from Hqhair.com and was looking forward to receiving them, as soon as I got the box I dove in and was brushing my face immediately. These brushes are so soft! I own two Japonesque eye brushes so I was in now way concerned that these brushes would be a let down.

The set cost me £28, and for three brushes and a holder/case I think that's a great price. I have used the face brush for highlight and powder so far and it just feels lovely moving across my skin. As you can see from the last picture I have held the two eye brushes up with a MAC 217 for a size comparison.

The only down side that I can find is that the brushes are short handled. They are roughly half the size of the length of a regular MAC eye brush. I have small hands and even I struggle to find them as comfy as my other brushes. But when it comes down to it, the brush end is the most important isn't it?? ;D

I really like how these brushes look in my collection, they really add a little something and make it look a bit more 'chic' ;)

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Illusoire - An overview

Hi guys :)
I am going to be giving you an overview of one of the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre's and the shade is Illusoire...

Swatch of just Illusoire

I have a few of these Illusion D'Ombre's and none of them disappoint me. I swatched the shades when in the store and loved how this was not only purple but had the possibility to reflect other colours as well.

As with all of these, the texture is like nothing else I have felt. It is spongey and creamy at the same time. I have found the best way of applying them is to use a synthetic flat shader brush. I originally used my finger but wasn't happy with the lack or precision.

I love that they make an excellent base colour for my shadows. With this shade I decided to use my Inglot shadow in #AMC 53. I thought that they worked brilliantly together and the shadow really brought the Chanel product to life.

If memory serves me it is claimed that these shadows last for up to 16 hours, and I have to admit they last an awful long time. I usually apply my Urban Decay primer potion underneath anyway - just to be on the safe side ;)

MAC Face and Body Foundation - An overview

Hey lovely ladies :)
Today's post is going to be all about MAC's Face and Body foundation...

MAC claims - "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend formula. Available in a wide range of colours. Contains several emollients to help moisturise and condition the skin. it delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body."

I find the description to be true, it gives me a natural looking coverage depending on what I use for application and is easy for me to blend. I think this would be a good choice for those of us who enjoy just being able to whack it on our face brush it over and be done with it ;)

This is MAC's largest foundation when it comes to quantity. It's quite popular for some for that reason alone as it seems quite a money-efficient foundation. It costs £26.50 for 120ML and comes in 13 shades on the MAC website. I chose C1 which was the lightest shade of what usually is referred to as 'NC'. I am very happy with the match for my skin.

As a girl with very dry skin, I find this to be quite moisturising and light feeling. The spout is helpful when it comes to dispensing product in the right quantity. I also think it is hygienic and easy to clean, I sometimes struggle to clean certain brands pumps.

As a water based foundation you need to give this a good ol' shake before you use it. If you don't use it for a while it can eventually separate so giving it a shake every now and then seems to prevent that.

All round good foundation, and I wasn't surprised that I liked it after hearing such good things about it :)

17 Mirror Shine-on Bee-hive lipstick - An overview

Hey every one :)
Today's post is an overview of a lipstick from the boots brand 17...

I'll be honest and say that when I first wore this on my lips I was under-whelmed. It just didn't look like much, although to be fair it was evening time and I was tired -_- haha

I don't have anything else like this colour in my collection. It feels very glossy, I feel that there would be no need for a gloss when wearing this. This shade seems to make your lips look like your lips but better (for me anyway). The packaging is quite loud, I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure this kind of finish to the tube with scratch quite easily when thrown about. I like that it reflects the name of the finish though (Mirror Shine)... Wouldn't miss this one in your stash :D

The lipsticks from this particular finish are £4.59 which lets face it, is pretty much a steal nowadays! When looking at the Boots website, there wasn't a single bad review if you want some extra proof ;) If you want even more of a shove into getting this shade or at least one of the other shades, Barbara (The Persian Babe) adores Bee-hive ;D

I will definitely be looking for more from this brand based on how much I like this lipstick!

What do you think of 17? Do you like Bee-Hive?
