MAC eye shadow: Goldmine

Hello there :)
Today's post is all about the MAC eye shadow Goldmine...

Beautiful no? MAC describes this eye shadow as 'intense gold with shimmer'... Sometimes I feel they could be a little more imaginative with describing ;) I agree.

The shimmer isn't too over powering, it is more frosty.. I guess that's why it's a Frost finish eh? I really enjoy the Frost finishes from MAC, some of my favourite eye shadows belong to this group.

This shade can be a bit much, it is very bright but if used right it can look amazing. I suppose using a small amount in the right places with the right accompanying colours helps. I feel that this would look beautiful on darker skin tones/tanned skin.

Golds help blue eyes to pop which is why I picked this shade up, it is a pure gold with nothing else. I'd say definitely swatch it and see what you think, it really is a pretty colour.

MAC eye shadow: Texture

Hey ladies :)
So, continuing on from my first MAC pallete, Texture is the first of my second palette which I often refer to as my browns/bronzes palette...

So MAC describes Texture as 'peachy-brown with shimmer'. No arguments there. It can show up like a camel colour on me which isn't a bad thing. This shade works really well with my blue eyes and helps them to pop.

This shadow is a Velvet finish which results in it being soft to touch. However, with some Velvet finishes, they often look a certain way in the pan and then appear quite a lot sheerer when swatched (swatch pictured above is quite heavy and I returned to the pan at least twice for the quality in the picture.)

As far as what I find this shadow works for, I love it worn in the crease. To be even more specific I love Texture in the crease with Soba on the lid (don't worry Soba will be coming soon!)

I think this shade would look amazing on darker skin tones and find it works excellently for us paler ladies to deepen the crease giving a more tanned finish. For those who worry about shimmer, take a look at the swatch, thats as glittery as it gets ;)

Humongous Haul video

Hey everyone :)
In today's post I am going to be leaving a video that I uploaded yesterday with the humongous haul of what I bought during my week off.
A lot of the products I bought will be being reviewed at some point, so I thought rather than posting a million pictures I'd post the video..
It's a long one but worth it I think ; ) Grab a cuppa and enjoy my super spending skillz...

Revlon Colourstay eye shadow Quad - A review

Good day to you lovely readers : )
I am going to be reviewing the Revlon Colourstay eye shadow Quad Siren today...

I'll be honest in saying that I mainly was attracted to this quad when I saw the shade in the bottom left. It reminded me a lot of MAC Satin Taupe but more silver than purple. It still does and I find it to be a purse friendly alternative.

I love how all of the shades work so well together. In the pictures I am wearing the bottom left shade over my lid with the top left shade in the crease and I really like it. I think the tones work well with my greeny/blue eyes.

This palette costs £7.99 and for four eye shadows of considerable size I think that's a reasonable price. The packaging doesn't feel very sturdy, like it wouldn't travel very well. I like that you can see the shades through it and it isn't bulky.

The pigmentation is a little hit and miss. The darkest shade was difficult to get the swatch shown, I attempted 2 or 3 times. The others are ok, I would say that top left and bottom right are the easiest to work with though.

As for the 16hour lasting power, I wouldn't agree. This look lasted no longer than any other shadows I use, I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that I don't agree with the 16hour statement.

These quads come in many shades with some bright colours as well as neutrals and I think they're great for those of us on a budget : )

Real Techniques Blush brush - A review

Hello lovely readers : )

Today's post is all about the Real Techniques Blush brush...

I feel as though I'm always saying 'this is amazing'... Well, this is amazing! I have a fair few of the Real techniques brushes now and they just climb in my estimates with each purchase.

I have been using up until now, the MAC 129 and while that is a nice brush, it isn't lovely. This brush glides across my cheeks so easily and distributes the product evenly. You can pack on colour with this or use a light hand. It is tapered in shape which allows you to pinpoint your application area.

The base is one of the standing handles so ipso facto, it stands ; ) The handle is mainly pink which represents it's usage ie; pink is for finish, purple is eye and orange is base. They really brighten up your collection!

One of the best things? This brush costs just £9.99! My MAC 129 cost me £26... Haven't needed to reach for that on in a while ; )

Stila Naturaleyes eye shadow palette - A review

Hey guys :)
This post is a rave I mean review ; ) of the Stila Naturaleyes palette...

This is an amazing palette. I have been reaching for it over my MAC palettes, Naked palettes and most others I own. This is my first experience with Stila and our relationship has started off on a good foot!
The pictures of me are of me wearing Kitten on the lid with Bliss and then Sunset over it in the crease/outer corner. Aaaamazing!
I really like the packaging, some have complained because it is the cardboard material but I don't mind it. I like the colour and rose gold font.
The smudge stick is really great, takes a lot for me to get it off! After testing it on my hand I hand to wash it with soap vigorously to remove it :D
All in all an excellent palette that has me looking for more from this company which is ideal for a makeup enthusiast ; )

Satin Swirl Eyes - A review

Hey guys :)

Today's post will probably be the raviest of rave posts so I hope you enjoy ; )

O.M.G these are amazing. They are created by Barbara Daly for Tesco and I cannot describe how good they are! So soft and easy to work with.

They cost £8 each but I got them for a 3for2 which is still on at the moment. There are 6 shades to choose from and even if they weren't on offer, I would have picked up all three shades.

The eye shadows are 2.5g... MAC eye shadows are 1.5g. Do I really need to do the math for you? ; ) I find them to be better than some MAC eye shadows I own, that's right, I said it!

I really like the packaging, it is a dark silver compact and looks quite sleek. The pattern looks lovely, but not too much for me to not want to use them haha

Please check them out if you get the chance to, they are well worth it :)

Thank you for stopping by :)

MAC Eye shadow in Haux

Hello ladies =D

Today's post is an overview of the last eye shadow in my palette and it is Haux. This is the last eye shadow in my first MAC palette...

So, MAC describes this eye shadow as soft, muted rosey brown.

Do I agree? Yes. I love wearing this colour all over my lid and through the crease.

I find that on my pale complexion it gives a hint of colour and is definitely buildable.

This eye shadow is a Satin finish, so it feels quite buttery and smooth. You can touch it very lightly to get colour pay off on your brush or finger.

It gives the opportunity to wear colour without being afraid it will be too much =)

What do you think of this shade? What would you wear it with?

Thank you for reading =)
