MAC eye shadow in Shroom

Hey everyone :)

Today I'm going to be talking about Shroom which is the next eye shadow in my first MAC palette.

So, MAC describes Shroom as soft beige with shimmer.

Do I agree? Kinda. It has shimmer but I would emphasise shimmer not glitter/sparkles and I would say it is lighter than a beige. It isn't as light as Vanilla and is less pigmented too as it is a satin finish it also isn't as soft.

I like to use this on top of Vanilla as a highlight, it adds a little subtle shimmer. I don't like to use it alone as I think it isn't quite brightening enough for me. Would look great on darker skin tones.

I hope you found this helpful, any questions? Leave them below :)

MAC eye shadow in Vanilla

Hey every one :)

Following earlier's post getting positive feedback, I am going to be talking about the first eye shadow in my highlight/light shadows palette which is Vanilla.

Ok so MAC describes this eye shadow as a peachy-ivory with reflects.

Do I agree? Yes. The last picture was proof for you all that this eye shadow isn't white, it's an off white... Or ivory if you will ;)

I love the texture, it's a velvet finish. So I find that it is well pigmented and soft to touch. An excellent blender shade as well as a highlight for pale complexions like me :) Remember, it has reflects not shimmer so if you're not a fan of glitzyness you need not worry :)

This is definitely a go to highlight for me, pretty much an every day use!

I hope you found this post helpful, any questions? Leave them below and I'll do my best to answer them :)

As always, thank you for stopping by :)

My MAC eye shadow palettes

Hey lovely ladies :)

I've decided that I want to do a post on my MAC eye shadow palettes! Here's what they look like...

My highlight and light shades palette

My Browns/golds/bronzes/taupes palette

My colours palette

So as you can see I have 3 full palettes. When I took the individual photos for each eye shadow it turned out that there are 3 pictures of each eye shadow. Even if I do one post per palette that is going to totally overload you with images! So I've decided to do a post per eye shadow. That way it will be more detailed and you can look at the ones you are interested in :)

I hope this makes sense as it has totally scrambled my brain xD

I'll be starting with what I call my 'highlights and light eye shadows' palette (pictured first). I'll write in each post to confirm which palette the eye shadow has come from :)

I hope this appeals to some of you! :)

Thank you for reading and I'll speak to you soon! :)

A weighty issue...

Hey every one! :)

This is going to be a personal/life post so skip this one if you're only here for the beautiful stuff ;)

Ok, so as you may or may not know, I've been battling with my weight for some time now. And when I say battling I mean me trying to decide on whether or not to do anything about it. I look at some women like Christina Hendricks and Adele, who are considered to be 'bigger/fuller figured' (hate that phrase) and think to myself that they look happy and healthy, why can't I accept myself for the way I am and just be happy?

If I were to wake up tomorrow and think: I'm not obese, I'm not atrociously unhealthy why not love myself the way I am, I would be able to have the occasional take away, eat biscuits and crisps every now and then and still be content. Unfortunately I can't do that. I have whats known as an addictive personality. Meaning if I like something I'll like it all the way. A packet of biscuits with be left as crumbs in my lap in one sitting without a thought!

After hearing the my soon-to-be Godson will be being christened on the 15th of April, every one beamed with excitement, I on the other hand heard alarm bells. I am bigger than all of the other god parents and my friend the new mum? Back in the jeans she wore before she got pregnant -_- haha.

I decided that I couldn't stand up there in front of a room full of people the way I am. I want to eventually loose a tonne of weight but even if I only lose a little in the next two months, at least I wont be the size I was up until recently. In the past few weeks I have lost 11lbs which I am ecstatic about! I hope to continue on in the direction :)

If you find this post interesting, I can do more about it? If not that's fine too :)

Thank you for stopping by and reading :)

Clinique Bottom lash mascara - A review

Hey lovely ladies :)

Today's Im' going to be reviewing a product that I have been using for a while because I wanted to be sure of how I felt about it and it's the Clinique bottom lash mascara. Read on if you're interested...

For a size comparison - Next to MAC Zoom lash

Clinique claims - Now bottom lashes get in on the action with a brush engineered for tiny tasks and a formula that resists smears. Pair it with any mascara on top, and watch what happens. It is good for your bottom line.

Do I agree? Yes. This mascara has made a huge difference to the way I apply mascara to my bottom lashes. I'm the kinda girl who loves mascara. I can't live without it. I wear it every single day on top and on the bottom. I know a lot of people don't like it on the bottom but I find it really helps to open my eyes.

Usually I end up blobbing mascara on the skin under which gets very annoying -_- With this I haven't yet made a mistake! I find that it reaches ever lash and really makes them stand out.

I haven't found that it transfers or smudges on the skin. And it is very black which I love. Speaking of love, isn't the packaging gorgeous?

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who struggles with the lower lashes and likes to see every lash.

This mascara costs £11 for 2ml.

Thank you for reading and I hope you found this review helpful :)

MAC MSF Soft and Gentle - A review

Hello lovely readers :)

Today's post is going to be a review of the MAC mineralize skin finish in Soft and Gentle. Let's get going...

MAC describes this product as - Gilded peach bronze. A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, brows, anywhere on the body: provides an ultra-deluxe polish to the skin.

Do I agree? Yes. Something I would add is that it can be a little glittery/ultra shimmery. If you like wearing highlighter then you'll like this but for someone who likes things a little more subtle, you may not be interested in this product.

I like using this as a cheekbone highlight particularly in the summer. The colour doesn't transfer too much, like it says it just appears as a peachy bronze shade on the area.

This MSF like all the others I have tried is ridiculously soft... In the good sense. You don't need very much as it blends beautifully. This product is domed in shape, I have had mine for about a year and as you can see it's starting to get a little flat but not much!

If you have a pale complexion like me you needn't worry when using this product, it looks great! As you can see from the swatch, when used right it can look lovely. This will be a re-purchase again and again for sure ;)

This MSF costs £21.50 for 10g... Lasts forever! :)

Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope you found this review helpful :)

MAC Hot Paprika eye shadow - A review

Hello every one! :)

Today I'm going to be reviewing an eye shadow from the MAC Pro long wear collection called Hot Paprika. Let's get started...

MAC describes this shade as - "Mid-tone burnt red".

Do I agree? I think we all can. This is a very bright eye shadow but I'm not necessarily suggesting you wear it all over your lid... Some could pull that off and look amazing but we aren't all Rihanna are we??

I like wearing this shade in the crease with a more wearable colour over the lid. I particularly like it with something a little earthy like Mulch or Tempting. I think this colour is fantastic with fellow blue eyed ladies out there, it really makes them pop.

Of course this isn't an every day eye shadow for me but on days where I want to think outside the box or experiment a little, this eye shadows comes in handy as you can make it wearable :)

Another thing to mention is the fact that it is Pro Long wear. I have tested this out and it usually lasts up to 8 hours on me with just a paint pot as a base.

This eye shadow costs £16.50 for 3.4g - the larger sizes that MAC have started doing that a lot of people don't like!

Thank you for reading and I hope you found this review helpful :)

Bobbi Brown Gold Dust eye shadow - A review

Hey lovely readers! :)

Today's post is going to be a review of the Bobbi Brown eye shadow in the shade Gold dust. It is my first eye shadow from this brand, read on if you're interested in finding out what I think...

Sweet Satisfaction left Gold dust right

Sweet Satisfaction left Gold dust right

Bobbi Brown describes this eye shadow as - A champagne gold. The high-shimmer, high-pigment formula applies smoothly and evenly and stays crease free for long-lasting wear. Comes in a sleek, flip-top compact that can be used individually or assembled into our Customisable Palettes.

Do I agree? Yes. Firstly, I love the packaging of any Bobbi Brown cosmetics, it's just as it is described; sleek. This eye shadow is very pigmented and you need very little to manage to cover your lid area. It is also soft and easy to blend.

I really enjoy using colours like this. The majority of my collection are colours in this family so I was immediately drawn to this shade. After getting it home, I had a brief moment of panic when I thought it was the same as my MAC pro long wear shadow in Sweet Satisfaction. Fortunately I was darker and less bitty (in my opinion). which as most people would agree is preferable.

This eye shadow and other shades form this brand cost £15.50 for 3.8g. And just for fun... MAC's Sweet Satisfaction costs £16.50 for 3.4g. Ouch ;)

Like I said this is a lovely colour and perfect for day wear, I have even used it as a brow bone highlight when I have worn a dark, brown toned look.

Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope you found this review helpful :)

NARS LolaLola eye shadow - A review

Hey lovely ladies :)

Today I'm going to be reviewing the NARS eye shadow in shade LolaLola which was one of the gifts I was given for my birthday last month :) Let get started...

NARS describes this shadow as - Neutral brown with shimmer.

I can't see anyone disagreeing with that! I'm a sucker for anything brown, gold, bronze and/or shimmery. This fits my likes perfectly :)

The texture of these eye shadows is lovely. They are very soft, if you just touch a 239 against them you already have enough product for half the lid of a wash of colour all over. The shimmer isn't 'glittery', it looks beautiful in the light.

I found that applying this on top of the Urban Decay primer potion it lasted all day. No creasing at all. I have blue eyes and I found that this really helped them to stand out more especially when I used it all around the eye - smudged on the lower lash line with plenty of mascara.

This is definitely one of my new favourites when it comes to my every day neutral brown eye. It goes really well with my Teddy kohl liner from MAC, which is better for me as black liner make my eyes look teeny tiny.

The one and only down side I can mention? I LOVE the packaging, it's sleek, tidy and presentable looking but it gets dirty very easily. When I say dirty I just mean that you will see shimmer and finger marks on it within days! I can deal with that for a good product :)

I would say if you like brown eye shadows, shimmer and shadows that are extremely soft and easy to work with, what are you waiting for?? ;)

The eye shadow costs £17 for 10g... It'll last forever.

Thank you for taking the time to read, I hope you found this helpful :)

MAC 286 brush - A review

Hey every one and welcome new followers :)

Today's post is going to be a review of the brand new brush released along with the MAC Naturally collection, the 286. Let's get started...

MAC claims - "With its soft dome shape, this two-toned, duo-fibre brush of goat and synthetic fibres provides a sheer, more controlled application of M∙A∙C Mineralize Eye Shadow."

Do I agree? Yes and no. I agree with everything except that I don't think I would refer to this brush as having much 'control'. But when I saw the promo pictures I wasn't expecting that anyway.

It is very soft and ideal for blending the crease. Depending on what space you have to work with, you kind find this useful for highlighting too.

I like the fact that it is round unlike the 217 and more compact than the 224. I usually reach for either of these for my blending and can struggle with their shapes and flexibility at times.

I can see that I will be reaching for this brush a lot in the future. I'm glad that it is permanent too as I can see that I be buying a few more to go into my collection :)

The 286 Duo fibre tapered blending brush costs £22... And well worth it in my opinion ;)
